Grand Masters Celebrates 15 years in the Villages

Lake Sumter Landing and Lake will be filled with dragonboaters and revellers on July 18 from 5pm to 10pm to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of the founding of the Grand Masters Dragon Boating Club. Grand Masters is the governing body for Villages dragonboat teams including The Leatherneck Warriors, The Blackhearts, The Silver Dragons and 5 other teams. The Warriors will join our neighbors and local compeititors for some fun races on the lake, and celebration of this 15+ years of paddling in the Villages

Advanced Dermatology Free Cancer Screening Event

Advanced Dermatology's Spanish Springs office hosted more than 30 Leatherneck Warriors and family members at a free cancer screening event. Advanced Dermatology is a Platinum Sponsor of the Leatherneck Warriors Dragonboat team. With one in five people developing skin cancer, it is important that all people get routine check-ups with a dermatologist. Team paddler Ann Meehan commented about her experience, "I have pretty fair skin. Being outdoor in Florida is brutal on my skin, so I was thrilled to have such a great Dermatologist nearby." Don Lies added, "Not only are they a fine company, they are also a great partner for our team."
